MassLive: Energy moratoriums a danger to Western Mass. business (Letters)

Nancy Creed, president of the Springfield Regional Chamber, highlights the particular challenges that Western Massachusetts faces amid the statewide energy crisis:

“Ten communities that are home to 150,000 people and countless businesses in our part of the state are stuck looking for other — and more expensive — alternatives when it comes to getting their energy.

At a time when energy prices are already going up, moratoriums are threatening our region’s economic viability. It’s one thing to pay some of the highest energy prices, it’s another to worry about whether our new businesses and employers can open their doors.”
